NT Police are searching for a man who allegedly assaulted a woman in Moil on Monday afternoon.

The NT Police media unit issued a statement with little information to assist possible witnesses, including offering no description of the suspect.

They also did not say if the assault was sexual in nature, but said in the statement that they “don’t believe” the suspect poses a risk to the community.

Police said the woman was assaulted in Butters Park, on the corner of Byrne Circuit and Beck Street in Moil around 1:30pm Monday.

“Investigators are aware that there were a number of people in the area at the time of the alleged incident and are calling for witnesses to come forward,” said Constable Fiona Henwood.

“Police believe this is an isolated incident and don’t believe the alleged offender poses a risk to the greater community”.

It is unclear why the police would not release any description of the suspect.
