NT Police have today reported that a man died in a helicopter crash in East Arnhem Land yesterday afternoon.

Superintendent Drew Slape said in a statement on Wednesday police received reports of a helicopter crash south of the remote community of Ramingining about 2.45pm Tuesday.

He said the 47-year-old male pilot was declared dead at the scene.

Police have provided no more details but Supt Slape said they had not yet determined the cause of the crash.
