A man was taken to hospital in a serious condition with cuts to his hands, arms, chest, and back after he was attacked by a woman with an edged weapon in Katherine, NT Police said.

Police director of communications Mark Wilton said in a statement that about 9:30pm Wednesday, police responded to reports of a woman allegedly assaulting a man on Railway Terrace with an edged weapon.
