A man is in Royal Darwin Hospital with a cut to his forehead from allegedly being attacked with an “edged weapon” after the windows of his parked car were smashed by three offenders who are still on the run, NT Police said.
Police director of communications Mark Wilton said in a statement that about 11:20pm Monday, police received reports of an 18-year-old man who was assaulted with an edged weapon in a car park on Yanyula Drive in Anula.
Mr Wilton said police alleged that three offenders wearing masks, and carrying unspecified edged weapons, approached a parked car with two male occupants.
“The offenders allegedly smashed the windows of the vehicle and assaulted the two males in the car whilst demanding property,” Mr Wilton said
“One of the males sustained a laceration to his forehead and was transported to Royal Darwin Hospital by St John Ambulance in a stable condition.”
Police are asking anyone who has information on the attack to call them on 131 444, or make an anonymous report by calling Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
