A man was dragged up to 10 metres by a trailer attached to his car which was stolen from an Alice Springs service station, NT Police said.
NT Government media marketing manager Sita Bacher said in a statement, police were looking for witnesses after the maroon Holden VX Commodore was stolen just before 5am from a service station on the Stuart Hwy in Alice Springs on Friday.
She said the owner of the car, a 59-year-old man, was hit by a trailer the car was towing, and dragged roughly five to 10 meters. The man later went to hospital to treat grazes and bruising, she said.
The car and trailer were recovered in Braitling and Sadadeen on the same day, Ms Bacher said.
Anyone with information is urged to call police on 131 444.
Perhaps Sita Bacher could provide a description of the offenders. But then that would be too much information.
Sending out the information closer to the time of the offence would make more sense.
It seems the return of Action for Alice has nudged Ms. Bacher into limited action herself.
