A 27-year-old man has been charged with murder in relation to the suspicious death of his female partner 10 days ago, NT Police said.
Police started investigating the death of the 27-year-old female on the morning of December 6, after officers and local health clinic staff responded to reports of an unresponsive female at a town camp home in Borroloola.
She was declared deceased at the scene, about 20 minutes after the incident was reported. Police called the death “suspicious” at the time.
Detectives from the police’s Crime Division deployed to Borroloola to assist local police with the investigation. The man was taken into custody later on December 6.
On Tuesday, the 27-year-old male suspect was charged with murder and remanded to appear in Darwin Local Court on December 19.
“Police continue to urge anyone with information about the incident to make contact on 131 444 quoting reference number P25329866,” police said in a statement.
