A 29-year-old man was arrested and charged by police after an alleged aggravated robbery at a store in Stuart Park on Friday night in which an “edged weapon” was used to threaten a worker, NT Police said, with two teens also being charged for a separate robbery incident in Karama.

Police reported that the 29-year-old man entered a store on Westralia Street and intimidated the employee with a knife, then stole alcohol and other items from the store before fleeing the location.

The man was arrested shortly after the incident by the police and was charged with aggravated robbery and was ordered to appear in court today.

In a separate incident on Saturday night, police said three youths were at a shopping centre in Karama around 12:30am where it is alleged they approached an employee who was closing down a business, entered the store and then attempted to steal the company vehicle.

“The employee intervened and a physical altercation occurred,” police said in a statement. “The employee suffered minor injuries before the offenders fled the scene on foot with a set of keys.”

A 15-year-old was arrested on Sunday and charged with unlawful entry and aggravated robbery. A 17-year-old was also arrested in connection to the incident, police said, who on Monday was “assisting police with their enquiries and is expected to be charged later today”.

Police are asking anyone who witnessed any suspicious behaviour in the areas to call 131 444.
