A 34-year-old male has been arrested after indecently touching a sleeping man on Saturday morning on a footpath, with police calling for anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them.

NT Police reported the 34-year-old suspect allegedly indecently touched one of two sleeping males on the footpath in the vicinity of Gilruth Avenue and Gardens Road at around 6:30am, and was arrested by police at the scene.

“Police are urging anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen something, or if you have dash-cam footage, to make contact on 131 444. Please quote reference 10106433,” Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Malogorski said.

The suspect has been charged with one count of performing an act of gross indecency and will be appearing today in Darwin Local Court.
