  1. WoW if him and his kids are leaving the highly respected DPP that will dent the hr staff turnover stats a bit!

    • On the subject of hiring family/mates, promotions etc, how’s that review of promotions bestowed while Michael Murphy was Commissioner of Northern Territory Police going ? Haven’t heard a peep. No doubt Poisonous Pete, Cyanide Sonia and all those who were annointed by good old Mick, are hoping it will all go away.

      • Peter I worked at PFES, I made a list of all the employee names sorted by surname, and lost consciousness. It should be Police Fire Emergency Services And Their Entire Families (PFESATEF). Thats just the nepotism! The Cronyism is even worse!
Whats the name of the Senior HR Officer who sat in on her Sons interview? Is it Hilary?

  2. *sound of a large rodent jumping then hitting the water

‘Mr Babb and his family attracted controversy in February when the NT Independent revealed he had hired his son and daughter-in-law for short-term office positions he created that weren’t publicly advertised.
It was later revealed he had also hired mates and promoted other people he was friendly with through hiring practices that appeared not to have adhered to established processes.’

~Why does this sound eerily familiar…..was it something someone said……did we dream it perhaps……maybe it was in an episode of The Bold and the Beautiful?

~Can’t quite put our collective fingers on it……

~Ah yes, Alastair Shields From The Public said this recently at his Pantomime Action Charade about how he recommended, then advised then employed and overpaid the Chief Minister’s husband Sam Burke repeatedly with the direct assistance of someone in the CE of the Chief Minister and Cabinet office.

~Of course, Alastair Shields From The Public who that person was. And why did no one ask him who sent that email while he was sitting there?

~Because both the ALP and the CLP wanted to protect that person/those people.

~These are your very own words Alastair:

“this stuff has been going on for a long time”

“Yes I have a bit of an understanding, I wouldn’t say it’s routinely commonplace but it’s not unusual.”

“Entirely routine matter, I received an email from someone who worked in the office of the CE of the CM and Cabinet, they sent me an email to remind me of the obligation to have a discussion with Mr Burke about the renewal of his contract and to advise when that occurred. I think within a day or so of that Mr Burke and I sat down in accordance with the contract 6 months out and before the expiry to have a discussion…..”

~The N-word, the word that was not spoken at the recent DWC Pantomime Action Charade, the word that keeps cropping up around the same levels of NT Government: NEPOTISM

~Lloyd Babb too now jumping ship, much like Andrew Shirkman did so he did not get dragged into the public Pantomime, this feels as if something is brewing around the DPP too.

~We flagged this before: it only takes one rodent to break ranks when the heat might be getting too close for whatever reason and the rest will follow.

‘No action against Mr Babb for hiring his son, daughter-in-law and other mates was ever taken and Mr Babb denied breaching hiring processes.’

~Of course there wasn’t. There is an agreement between the ALP and the CLP not to properly regulate and punish this kind of behaviour in NT Government because their own lot will need to do it whenever they get into power next time.

~See our previous comment in the last article about Shirkman’s settled case:

    https://ntindependent.com.au/kirkman-workplace-abuse-legal-action-suddenly-settled-before-hearing-was-to-start/

~We know for a fact: Change For Better Party would use their idea of retrofitting NT Government with new legislation to extend backwards or outwards certain legal timeframes/statute of limitations in order to catch previous abuse of office or NEPOTISM offences.

~For example: fully investigate Lloyd Babb and his office for their alleged NEPOTISM, reported in this fine publication.

~Because, yet again, the ALP and the CLP have chosen not to do so. They want to keep these things immune from consequences for when they’re in power next.

~Just because rats have jumped early from the sinking CLP-ship doesn’t mean you can’t be investigated, charged, convicted and extradited, if necessary. Post splash.

~We doubt even Michael Gunner would be safe either. Hope you’re reading this Mike from your imaginary safety of WA.

~Maybe CFB could use the NT Government lawyers to come after you, if they found the allegations substantiated for example or if you were found guilty by a competent court of law.

~Who’s next for an early swim we wonder…….?
