Dr Robyn Smith’s article re the euthanasia debate explains why there was not even one vote against euthanasia.
We had a quasi conscience vote but in reality it was a party vote. Strange how 12 MLAs across party lines voted against Marshall Perron’s Rights of the Terminally Ill Bill introduced many years ago but not one MLA today.
Looks like a conscience vote was just window dressing to cover a pre-planned strategy to pass the Bill regardless.
