The Central Land Council and the Northern Land Council have said they were not fully consulted on the NT government’s decision to change laws they say will diminish native title rights and risk the destruction of Aboriginal sacred sites, the media has reported.
The government’s new 2030 agricultural strategy, initiated with the NT Farmers Association, aims to increase the area of cropping to 100,000 ha, and to reduce approval times for land clearing permits, and water allocation licenses.
The magical sacred sites, how about signposting them , their location is not secret as is evidenced by the requirement women are not allowed on mens sites and vice versa, all the legitimate sites are well known in the local communities so should be signposted, the others that suddenly turn up on development sites etc are total codswallop.
