A Federal Court judge has ordered Katherine Town Council to reinstate its former chief executive officer Ingrid Stonhill and allow her to continue on worker’s compensation leave until the conclusion of two unlawful discrimination complaints currently being investigated by the Australian Human Rights Commission.
Katherine Town Council removed Ms Ingrid Stonhill from the job without explanation on March 6, following more than four months of unexplained leave, a move which came months after the council was ordered by the Fair Work Commission to pay staff performance wage increases they had been denied by Ms Stonhill since July 2022.
