Jetstar will temporarily suspend its Darwin to Gold Coast service from May to October as part of Qantas Group’s cost-cutting measures due to rising global jet fuel prices driven by the Middle East conflict.
The Qantas Group, which includes Jetstar, anticipates fuel costs of $600 million to $800 million in the first half of 2026 due to the ongoing conflict. To help manage these expenses, the group has cut domestic capacity by five per cent between May 18 and June 30.
