Japan will deploy troops to the Top End in collaboration with the US Marines it was announced on Sunday, following trilateral discussions in Darwin with the Australian Defence Minister.

Richard Marles, Japanese Defense Minister Gen Nakatani, and US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin held talks over the weekend about the “interoperability” between the three countries, which Mr Marles said has sent a “very important statement to the region and the world” about the countries working together.
