Federal Labor Member for Lingiari Marion Scrymgour has called on Territory Families and Police Minister Kate Worden to “deal with the issue” of child abuse and out-of-control crime in Central Australia rather than calling out Federal Opposition Leader Peter Dutton politically for raising concerns.
On Thursday, Mr Dutton said he had been told by police and social workers in Alice Springs during his two day visit this week that sexually abused children were being sent “screaming” back into abusive homes in Central Australia, which was leading to increased crime throughout the wider community.

It appears Marion can see the light, something her Territory counterparts are oblivious to. All that is needed now is some proper butt kicking, not more words, to get some genuine action.
