The Fyles Labor Government restricted debate on a petition calling for action on crime in Parliament Tuesday morning to just 10 minutes per member, with the Chief Minister failing to speak for the allotted time, which the Opposition said showed disrespect to Territorians.
The petition, started by slain bottleshop worker Declan Laverty’s mother Samara, has garnered more than 26,000 signatures calling on the government to enact a suite of measures to address crime in the community.
