The Local Government Minister and the Katherine Town Council will not say why an investigation was launched into the council last year, but the NT Independent understands it probed elected members’ understanding of their roles and the former chief executive’s performance.
The council announced last week it removed CEO Ingrid Stonhill following months of unexplained leave, but did not explain why. The removal came after the council was ordered by the Fair Work Commission to pay staff performance wage increases they had been denied by Ms Stonhill since July 2022.
Could it have anything to do with a NZ CEO and allegedlly a magically longlist of New Zealand based training firms that had to fly 5,137 kilometers from overseas to Darwin and drive down to Katherine to deliver their magical training in Katherine?
