A 23-year-old man who police allege struck two pedestrians with his car on Thursday afternoon and fled the scene near Hibiscus Shopping Centre has been charged, while police said one of the pedestrians has died in hospital overnight.

The alleged driver was charged on Friday night with hit-and-run causing serious harm and bailed to appear in court on June 25, however it was unclear if the charge would be upgraded given the death overnight.
