The NT’s anti-corruption commissioner Michael Riches was so afraid a domestic violence order he was served in May 2023 would be made public, that he offered to pay his estranged wife $20,000 to ensure the matter never made it to the courts, according to a report in The Australian.
The NT Independent understands that Mr Riches did not disclose the DVO or the allegation of domestic violence to the ICAC Inspector or anyone else, which it now appears he withheld to protect his job, with the NT Police Commissioner claiming he had no knowledge of the DVO or allegation before last week.

What an alleged mess the NT ICAC is (allegedly). A the risk of my phone being tapped and being covertly followed, i think NT Labor have set the framework for this ICAC mess by cutting funding and hamstringing the Commissioner every step of the way.
Exactly. It was set up to be able to do very little. And don’t get the Acting Commissioner on the turps. She’s the soul of indiscretion. What a circus.
Crikey you blokes, ( the NT Independent, not the dills at ICAC), are good at your job.
Please keep putting the boot in.
