A 15-year-old male has been arrested in connection to the alleged assault of a female staff member at Tennant Creek High School on Monday, NT Police said.
Police received reports of the assault around 12:05pm.
Details of what occurred were not provided, but police said in a statement it is alleged the 15-year-old male student “physically assaulted an adult female staff member before leaving the school grounds”.
The woman was taken to hospital for assessment, police said, but did not provide an update on the severity of her injuries.
The student was arrested shortly after 3pm at a residence in Ambrose Street, police said.
“He remains in police custody with charges expected to follow,” police media director Mark Wilton said.
