The Supreme Court witness list for senior Labor figure Kent Rowe’s child sex offences trial has been revealed, and it includes prominent local business people and families, other Territory Labor Party figures, the Deputy Chief Minister’s brother, a local councillor and more.

The former Labor Party secretary has pleaded not guilty to raping the female who was known him when she was a child and he was in his early 20s.

It has been reported that prosecutors will allege Kent Rowe apologised “to her repeatedly” last year when the alleged victim called him as part of a “pretext call” that was recorded and would be played to the court, in which he “refers to what he did as ‘abhorrent’,” said Crown prosecutor Tamara Grealy in her opening statement to jurors.

Defence barrister Jon Tippett did not offer opening remarks.

The witness list, provided to the NT Independent by the courts, shows a number of Territory Labor figures will be called to testify, including Deputy Chief Minister Nicole Manison’s brother Luke Manison, Territory Labor’s current secretary Karlee Dalton’s husband Robert Dalton, and Michael Gunner’s former electoral officer Hannah MacLeod.

Mr Gunner’s brother-in-law Ryan Neve was scratched from the witness list.

Mr Rowe’s wife and Darwin alderman Rebecca Want de Rowe will also be called to testify.

Other party members, members of prominent families, business people and government employees are listed as having provided a “draft agreed fact regarding camping”, including Dave Hannon, former Labor media adviser Sheena Dunne, police officer Maxwell Lisson, Angela Robinson, Paul Rivas and Nick Brown.

Darwin Ballet School owner Lisa Heath is listed as having provided a “draft agreed fact regarding records”.

The trial before Chief Justice Michael Grant continues in closed court.
