Good on the current Administartion for making it happen. If the future of development in the NT is held up with with “meaningful con$ultation with cu$todian$” then there is no future. Examples: -The 800 house DHA development in Lee Point, by Australias largest developer DHA was held up and cancelled by a small group of vocal protestors! -The Tiwi/fake lawyers holding up the Barossa Gas project is the best example of pop up Sacred sites. -The Disasterous RSL Esplanade proposal where a “respected Charles Darwin University Aborginal Elder in Residence” totally got it wrong with her pop up sacred site claim. The Waterfront sacred site is known about and could have been handled better, however should it stop such a large project?
So where is the sacred site? It must be somewhere up in the sky if the proposed limitation is building height? Or could it be more a question of concern that the proposed hotel may overshadow the white elephant being constructed on the site of what was once a thriving business?
I applaud the CLP government for taking control of development in the NT back from the self-interest mostivated hacktivists.
