Meanwhile we still need reliable base load power, especially in the wet season when clouds can cut solar in less time than a generator can be brought online. These one hour buffers will require temperature control and have losses associated with the electronics required to convert and stabilise the output. In brief they will consume energy from the grid while charging and doing their work. During the night they will consume power from the grid just to maintain one hour of backup. The batteries can never be completely discharge and therefore a 45 Mw battery can in reality only provide around 30 Me before life of the battery is reduced.
Batteries are in no way to be used as base load for GRID FORMING stability. That is a absolute lie by NTG. Inertia is the KEY to forming a BASELOAD. This is common sense and it is FACT. The sheet that comes out of the manipulated media releases is unbelievable
Jees. PAWA and JACANA are now offering to pay commercial operators to stop PRODUCING renewable energy. That is fact so why would you believe anything about this renewable crap. PV is good to keep your consumption down whist baseload is available. Otherwise we are signing up to a life of misery
