The sole director of a company the Health Department is negotiating with to run the hyperbaric chamber unit at Royal Darwin Hospital lived at the same address and shares the same last name as the sole director of the company that lost the contract to run the unit after it was forced into administration 18 months ago, ASIC records show.
The hyperbaric unit closed in mid-December with no explanation from the department about why the operator’s contract ended before a new company was selected to take over. The department wrote to stakeholders indicating the unit would begin treating people again on February 11, but the unit is still not operating.
Very very confusing. One has to wonder why this was outsourced at all. Other highly specialised medical equipment isn’t.

Once a candidate reaches their quota (e.g., Nigel Scullion), any excess is handed over (Nova Peris) to Labor to get them over the line.
