Four people have been rescued from the sea, clinging onto their overturned catamaran, off the Tiwi Islands on Friday afternoon, NT Police said.

Acting Senior Sergeant Anthony Clarke said in a statement a CareFlight helicopter from Darwin was dispatched to Bowen Bay, on Bathurst Island’s southwestern side, after a distress beacon was activated about 1:50pm Friday.
