Four candidates have been confirmed by the Australian Electoral Commission to contest the election to become the next NT Police Association president.

Long serving president Paul McCue announced his resignation last month, and Lisa Bayliss, along with Ben Coleman, Joshua Cunningham and Nathan Finn, were confirmed by the AEC to have nominated for election.

All candidates are currently serving as police officers, which is a requirement for union executives.

Two candidates, Ms Bayless and Mr Finn, are the only candidates who are already in the union executive management as the NTPA senior vice president, and executive member, respectively.

Patrick Phillip Carson and Adam Swift will be contesting for the position of vice president.

Meanwhile, nine people will be competing for the five positions open for branch executive members.

Candidates for the executive are Brodie Anderson, Aaron Evans, Evan Kelly, Todd Lymbery, Benjamin Paterson, Colin Quedley, Amelia Scott, Joel Smith and Michael Valladares.

All financial members will receive postal votes on April 24, with voting remaining open until 10am on May 24.

The Australian Electoral Commission said it publicly released the candidates after confirming their eligibility.
