An invitation-only forum discussing the future of barramundi fishing in the Northern Territory will be held in Darwin with speakers including Carefish Queensland founder Paul Aubin, who organisers say was instrumental in securing funding to buy back the commercial fishing licences in Queensland.
The event, which has room for 200 attendees, will be held at Mindil Beach Casino pavilion on Friday, and will also be addressed by Australian Marine Conservation Society shark conservation lead Dr Leonardo Guida, the National Australian Fishing Annual’s Alex Julius, Amateur Fishermen’s Association of the Northern Territory chief executive officer David Ciaravolo, and Tourism Top End general manager Samantha Bennett.
