The Flickerfest short film festival is returning to the Northern Territory from this month with Australian, international and short films.
Festival director Bronwyn Kidd said a collection of nine of the best of Australian short films will be shown in Alice Springs, Katherine and Darwin.
She said these include two films by Territorians: First Drop, which was written by Damon van der Schuit, and produced by Emma Alix Smith and Bridget May, and Darwin Story by Natasha Tonkin.
While there will also be the best of the international films and the best comedy films screened in the NT as well.
“Flickerfest’s national touring program is a great opportunity for lovers of film to meet the filmmakers, catch the best of Australian and International short films from Flickerfest’s world-class festival selection without having to travel interstate,” she said.
“Our NT tour has become a much anticipated annual cultural event, and we look forward to sharing this year’s hand-picked shorts with our NT audiences and showcasing the talent of NT filmmakers.”

Friday, March 22, 7.30pm: Best Australian short films.
Saturday, March 23, 7.30 pm: Best international short films.
There will also be a free panel on March 23, from 3 to 4 pm, where Mr van der Schuit and his team will discuss making First Drop. Registration is essential.
Katherine – Katherine Cinema 3
Thursday, July 25, 7 pm: Best Australian short films.
Darwin – Deckchair cinema
Saturday, July 27, 7 pm: Best Australian short films.
Saturday, July 27, 9 pm: Best comedy short films.
