The Planning Action Network will be holding a planning event on Wednesday looking at the potential for endangered species to threaten the Defence Housing project at Lee Point.

Group convener Nick Kirlew said among the other topics to be discussed will be the hotel development at Little Mindil, Flagstaff Park, Playford St, Goudian finches, archive and volunteering, car parking, serviced apartments and other compromises, unauthorised construction and the Casuarina Coastal Reserve.

He said PLAN is a community group advocating for sustainable, and community-endorsed urban planning decisions in the Northern Territory.

“PLAN sees this event as an opportunity for Darwin residents to get an understanding of how the planning process works at the grassroots level,” he said.

The event will be held from noon on Wednesday, June 29, at Audit House 2 Burnett Place, Larrakeyah.

For more information call Mr Kirlew on 0447 499 794 or email nick@planinc.org.au. You can RSVP on the PLAN website.
