Darwin’s property and juvenile crime police unit, Strike Force Trident, is being moved from the Casuarina Police Station to be absorbed by the Crime and Intelligence Command at the Peter McCauley Centre in Berrimah, the police union has said, a move the man who established the unit said could see members siphoned off to other parts of the agency due to political pressures, leading to a potential increase in property crime.
NT Police Association president Nathan Finn told Mix 104.9 the union had been told late last week that Strike Force Trident, currently under the control of Darwin Regional Command, was being moved from the police station to the NT Police Berrimah headquarters.
Could they not be based in the empty Police building in Nightcliff, next to the same ol suspects?
