Territorians are advised to guard against mosquito bites after a person died in the Big Rivers region from Murray Valley encephalitis, which followed an earlier fatality from the infection in the Top End region, NT Health has warned.

NT Health reported that there have been four cases of MVE in the NT this year, including two in the Big Rivers region – both in infants – one in the Barkly region, and one in the Top End region.
