The body of a 44-year-old man found on the road outside a Smith Street apartment complex is not being treated as suspicious, but NT Police said they are still looking for information in relation to the incident.

Police were called to the apartment complex shortly after 6am Monday morning, after the man was discovered on the road.

Police said he was an occupant of the complex.

“At this stage of the investigation we believe his death is non-suspicious, however as investigations are continuing we would like to hear from anyone who was in the vicinity of Smith Street between Daly Street and Peary Street in the early hours of [Monday] morning,” Duty Superintendent Drew Slape said in a statement.

“If anyone in the vicinity heard or saw anything that might relate to this investigation, or who has CCTV or dash-cam footage covering the area, we would like to speak with you.”

Police had closed nearby roads as part of the investigation Monday.

Anyone in the vicinity at the time or who might have information related to the incident is being asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, quoting reference P21187450.
