The dates for the Darwin Triple Crown Supercars races at Hidden Valley Raceway have been announced for June next year.
In announcing the 2023 racing schedule Supercars chief executive officer Shane Howard said that with the Camaro versus Mustang debut, the return of the Sandown 500 in Melbourne, and the marquee event, the Bathurst 1000, celebrating its 60th anniversary, 2023 was shaping as one of the most exciting in the history of the sport.
The Darwin event constitutes the Indigenous round, with the races to be run across June 16 to 18.
“We cannot wait to roll out our Gen3 Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro at Newcastle in March. What an amazing way to start the new chapter of racing for our sport,” he said.
“The Darwin Triple Crown is one of our favourite events on the calendar. Perfect weather, friendly locals, fantastic racing on a spectator-friendly circuit; it all adds up to a great weekend.”
The full Darwin program will be released later this year Mr Howard said, including the Australian Superbike Championship, the Porsche Paynter Dixon Carrera Cup, Aussie Racing Cars, and Combined Sedans.
The Seven Network will broadcast six events live: Newcastle, Darwin, Townsville, Bathurst, Gold Coast and Adelaide.
Punters can buy a 3-day hot pass on sale for $99, from November 25 to 28.
