Darwin councillor files police complaint against Paul Arnold over alleged polling station incident

Former Darwin councillor Paul Arnold has had another complaint filed against him with NT Police, this time by a sitting councillor who alleges he verbally abused and harassed her at Saturday’s Lyons Ward by-election polling station while appearing to wear an electronic ankle monitoring device.

The by-election was called after Mr Arnold resigned from council citing mental health issues in May, shortly before multiple domestic violence charges for stalking, deprivation of liberty and breaching a DVO – among others – were laid and previous charges made public. He has indicated he will fight the charges that led to a public arrest at his Smith Street art gallery in June.
