A man charged with murder over the alleged shooting death of another man near the Cutta Cutta Caves has been remanded in custody after his first court appearance in Katherine today.
Kim Kellett, 38, fronted Judge Cavanagh charged with murder and the alternate charge of manslaughter, over the alleged shooting death of a 26-year-old man early on Thursday morning.
The shooting happened in the vicinity of the Cutta Cutta Caves, about 30km south of Katherine.
Police announced the charges against Mr Kellett late Friday evening.
His matter was adjourned until March 31, where it will be moved to the Darwin Local Court.
There has also been a preliminary examination mention scheduled for May 25. Mr Kellet is being represented by Darwin lawyer Peter Maley.
