Several malnourished and dead dogs were discovered by police at a Tennant Creek property on Wednesday while attending on another matter that has led to animal cruelty charges against a 57-year-old man in a scene police described as “confronting” for officers, with the number of dead dogs on the property “incredibly concerning”.
Police said they attended the Tennant Creek residence on Wednesday to execute a warrant into historical fraud offences estimated to be worth $600,000 when they located “several malnourished and deceased dogs as well as a number of deceased protected native animals”.
