Time will tell. If the required actions are taken instead of the police association having to fight management all the way with a government that does something other than hide the truth we may finally get some relief.
Lia has already put her foot down and put most of the police on patrol now all she has to do is appoint a senior bureaucrat who answers only to the minister to go through all positions and find those that should be done by civilians, like all training , internal affairs etc, plus some independent doctors to examine all those on sick leave.

Boof you are aptly named. Do you think members on sick leave suffering PTS will get a different diagnosis from an independent Doctor? Do you have any idea what and How long it takes to get that diagnosis? Then the treatment? Or should they be cast adrift after what they have endured? Most people accept that the NT Police have been running on empty for years. People have had to perform multiple rolls all at once, wearing different hats, being given unreasonable deadlines by arrogant bosses that then don’t even remember why they asked for urgent reports and so forth. And putting her foot down and putting most on patrol. So the members that work behind the scenes still need the requisite knowledge of all NT legislation and often Commonwealth legislation. Do you know anyone hanging around that can do those jobs? We can’t get competant Public Service executives in the NT, and you think that you could attract people with that knowledge and operational experience who is a civilian to come up here to work? Don’t think it hasn’t been tried and it’s been disastrous in some cases. It would seem Lia has been fed the spin by Murphy and now all the pre election rhetoric is floating on the wind.
What a non suprise. We all knew she was just more of the same! Lies and Lies for months to get elected, then does a backflip, and is just “NT Labor Light” and keeps all the bad actors in their jobs, when its clear they are the cause for the Police front line to be so dissatisfied!
Remove all senior police that throw members to the wolves and believe they are innocent. They are not. If you do not respect your police offices. You are not fit to lead them
