  1. It is a conflict of interest for Gosling to be involved in that committee and the grant process but I suppose Labor mates have to stick together.

  2. It is with little wonder this has reached the ICAC as a formal complaint. Alleged misappropriation of Commonwealth and Territory funds, misleading the public multiple times knowing full well what the funds were for. Now the council has deemed the minutes of the meeting which ‘decided’ on the monument/memorial/public art/ kinetic structure or whatever the mayor calls it depending on the public backlash at the time as ‘confidential’ and “not in the public interest” to know how this manifestly unpopular structure was selected which include the mayor as the chair of the committee that made the decision.

Hundreds of Cyclone Tracy survivors have signed a letter to all members of the legislative assembly to boycott the Commemorative ceremonies held by the council on the 29th and 30th November and includes a letter to all City of Darwin Concillors to hold an emergency meeting calling for a no-confidence motion against the mayor.

The damage the mayor and the council have caused to survivors is immeasurable and the ‘kinetic structure’ will now be a dark symbol of the City of Darwin arrogance and betrayal of those who died during Tracy, the thousands who were injured, the survivors and their families.

The City of Darwin is a disgrace.
