A Katherine man has been charged over the death of a Palmerston man in a Yarrawonga industrial area, with more charges expected, NT Police said on Thursday.
Police director of communications Mark Wilton said the 21-year-old Katherine man was charged on Wednesday night with careless driving resulting in death, aggravated recklessly endangering serious harm, aggravated unlawful use of a motor vehicle, and driving while unlicensed, and was remanded to appear in Darwin Local Court today.
Why not murder or manslaughter? When you deliberately drive a car at someone and kill them there must have been intent to kill or injure the person. How can a bunch of traffic offences be pursued on private property over criminal charges. Does anyone know how this system works?
