NT Police Deputy Commissioner – and former commissioner Jamie Chalker’s right-hand man – Murray Smalpage has announced he will retire from the role next month after a tumultuous three-year term.
The retirement announcement comes less than a week after Michael Murphy was announced as Police Commissioner, who wished Mr Smalpage “all the best for his retirement” in a statement.
Just need to get rid of all the yes men that Chalker promoted and for Murphy to do his job without being a puppet to the government.
