A Singapore-based hotel and resort company has been chosen to develop and operate the proposed $100 million Darwin Convention Centre hotel, that has been billed as an “upscale” four-star facility with 236 rooms that will include at least one pool and a couple of restaurants.
CEL Australia – a subsidiary of Singapore-based Chip Eng Seng Corporation – was selected through an Expression of Interest process run by CBRE Hotels that was opened to the market back in 2022 and was expected to have closed by the end of January last year.
