  1. Why doesn’t CDU adopt a novel approach and prepare business cases and risk assessments before major projects are approved as opposed to after they collapse. A competent ICAC could investigate this costly debacle – sadly we don’t have one. The board or the Minister could refer all relevant material to NT Police and their special adviser.

    • Respectfully Charlie, does the NTG do business cases?
The Shiplift project, owned by a long term political donator, approaching almost a billion in tax payer funds had no business case!! Territorians are financing a particular familes wealth by financing a facility that has no evidence anyone will use it.

    • Easy answer. They employ incompetent people at the top. Academics that have no common sense and are educated beyond their level of intelligence. Mismanagement has been going on for decades with money wasted under every Vice Chancellor. Millions were lost in the last failed business decision in purchasing the Cairns Language Centre and then selling it at a loss.
Those on CDU’s Council need to stop the head nodding to VC’s and scrutinize all proposed ventures.
And like the Minister says-get back to core business and focus on the strengths of CDU – Tropical, Desert and Indigenous Knowledges and the correct delivery of TAFE courses.
