Two males, aged 16 and 17, allegedly broke into a Bellamack home armed with a taser and a baton and assaulted another teen on Monday, NT Police said.

Around 1pm, police responded to a call from the home on Clarke Street after the two males allegedly assaulted the victim and ransacked the teen’s belongings before fleeing the scene after a neighbour approached them.

The 16- and 17-year-old were known to the 16-year-old victim, police said.

Serious Crime Squad and general duties members arrested the offenders shortly after.

They were both charged with aggravated burglary and robbery, criminal damage, possession of prohibited and controlled weapons, possession of less than the trafficable quantity of schedule 2 dangerous drugs, and cultivating prohibited plants.

They are set to appear in court Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the police are also looking for information on three males who illegally entered and robbed an apartment in Tennant Creek on Sunday evening.

One of the three offenders allegedly held down the victim while the other two searched for alcohol, and stole a large quantity of meat from the freezer after illegally entering the victim’s apartment on Haddock Street.

Police said the offenders fled on foot to Ambrose Street.

A crime scene was established by detectives from Tennant Creek and enquires are ongoing to identify the offenders.

Detectives are urging anyone with information, particularly CCTV footage in the area that may have captured the males, to call police on 131 444 and reference 10388128. The public can also make an anonymous report through Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 444.
