Darwin Mayor Peter Styles has blamed the NT Electoral Commission for his late campaign donation returns, claiming they misplaced a hard-copy list in an envelope containing all three of his donors last October, which he said was necessary to hand-deliver because he was “busy” and electronic formats “could be deleted”.

Mr Styles’ list of donors was revealed on the NTEC website on Friday, after he reportedly submitted the list again on Tuesday following enquiries from journalists about his missing returns.
