Good samaritans who restrained a 14-year-old after witnessing him allegedly assault another youth with an “edged weapon” at the Casuarina bus interchange were later assaulted by another teen with a knife, sending them to hospital, NT Police said.
The incident occurred around 5:30 pm Friday.
Police said “witnesses” intervened in the original assault and restrained the 14-year-old alleged perpetrator, when a “second youth offender” armed with a knife approached them and “assaulted one of the witnesses with an edged weapon before both youths fled the scene”.
The two male victims, aged 15 and 44, suffered minor injuries from the incident and were taken to Royal Darwin Hospital.
The two male perpetrators, aged 14 and 15, were later located and arrested Saturday and taken into police custody.
Police did not say where the pair were found or what charges they face.

Members of Strike Force Trident and Serious Crime are continuing their investigation.
