The 52-year-old police officer who was sacked Friday afternoon for alleged “serious breaches” of discipline is Detective Senior Sergeant Wayne Newell, the NT Independent can confirm.
It is understood charges have still not been formally laid, but the NT Police executive have refused to explain the ongoing delays, citing “internal matters”.
