A man who allegedly set fire to a single dwelling home in Bees Creek yesterday is in custody, NT Police said, but have released no further details.
NT Police and Fire and Rescue Services attended to the residence that was fully engulfed by fire at around 4pm Thursday.
The fire was quickly brought under control and extinguished, a statement said.
“Firefighters conducted a search of the dwelling and fortunately there were no injuries with everyone accounted for,” NT Police media manager Rob Cross said.
“The dwelling was destroyed.”
Apparently, a man was on the scene of the blaze and was taken into custody.
“Police arrested a man on the scene and he has been conveyed to Palmerston Watch House for interview,” Mr Cross said last night.
A crime scene has since been established at the location of the fire in Bees Creek and police said investigations are continuing.
Charges have yet to be filed.
