Former NT Police Association president Vince Kelly will head the Fyles Government’s review into the NT Police, the government unilaterally announced despite pledging a bipartisan approach to the review, while calls continue for a proper independent inquiry led by a retired judge due to allegations of potential corrupt and criminal conduct.
Police Minister Kate Worden said in a statement this morning that Mr Kelly, a former NT Police officer, would lead the review, along with the support of a team of un-named senior police and government officials “with expertise in policing, human resources and finance”.
I hope this is not just another dodgy Labor review to stall any scrutiny and keep everything hidden longer.
The fox has been put in the chicken house. A good report will precede a top job somewhere. What a joke.
