The NT Government must review and change emergency powers that permit police to suspend liquor licenses of venues for two days, Hospitality NT has said, after Alice Springs businesses alleged police are unfairly targeting them.

The request from the peak body for the Territory’s hospitality sector came after Bojangles Saloon and The Rock Bar were suspended for 48 hours ahead of the most recent curfew in Alice Springs over allegations patrons from the bars engaged in “serious incidents involving riotous conduct” on Todd Street the day before the curfew.
