Alice Springs Town Council has launched the ‘myTodd Mall’ buy-local voucher program to support small businesses and attract customers amid ongoing construction disruptions that will see customers earn vouchers depending on how much they spend at participating businesses.

The voucher program, launching on August 21, will provide registered residents up to $40 in weekly vouchers to use at participating Todd Mall businesses. The program aims to support local traders affected by the construction project, encouraging increased foot traffic and continued patronage of shopping and dining in the Todd Mall.

Under the scheme, residents will have access to several vouchers based on their spending. Specifically, they can receive two $5 vouchers with a minimum spend of $20, a $10 voucher with a minimum spend of $50, or a $20 voucher with a minimum spend of $100.

Every voucher will “refresh” for customers one week after it is used and will remain available until the program’s $70,000 funding pool is depleted. Participation is limited to registered businesses situated within the Todd Mall precinct.

Alice Springs Mayor Asta Hill said that helping local businesses throughout the construction phase is a crucial aspect of the Regenerating the Alice Town Centre project.

“myTodd Mall is about encouraging locals to keep choosing Todd Mall while the works are underway,” she said in a statement.

“Whether it’s grabbing a coffee, buying a gift, enjoying lunch or picking up something you’ve had your eye on, every visit helps support our local traders.

“Our community really embraced the myAlice voucher program in the past, and we’re pleased to bring back a similar initiative that’s tailored to support Todd Mall businesses during this important period of renewal.”

Residents can sign up for the program starting Friday August 21, with vouchers ready for immediate use at participating businesses.
